About EquiSoul

EquiSoul grew from a desire to share the quiet, meaningful connection that can develop between people and horses. Based at our private farm in Moshav Hibbat Tziyon, we offer small-group programs and individual sessions for people navigating emotional challenges, change, or simply needing space to breathe. Our approach brings together thoughtful facilitation, practical experience with horses, and room for reflection. You don’t need previous experience or a particular belief about how healing happens—just the willingness to come as you are.

Meet the EquiSoul Team

Nikki Kagan

Founder, Equine Therapist and Facilitator

Nikki brings more than 30 years of experience helping people and organizations navigate change, strengthen relationships, and find their own direction. A certified therapeutic riding instructor with additional certification in working with people with PTSD, she brings together her professional experience and longstanding work with horses at EquiSoul.

As a certified practitioner and instructor of the Masterson Method®, a gentle approach to equine bodywork, Nikki notices subtle shifts in the horses’ tension, comfort, and willingness to connect. These responses guide her work with participants as they explore trust, boundaries, and emotional connection. She personally tends to the horses every day—from feeding and cleaning to their individual care—building the familiarity with each horse that informs every session.

Pia Ben David

Equine Therapist and Facilitator

Pia first came to EquiSoul during the war, joining a program for women whose husbands were away on military service. That experience became a turning point. At 40, after working in a variety of organizations and gaining experience supporting individuals facing emotional and mental health challenges, she chose a new direction, qualifying as an equine therapist and returning to EquiSoul as Nikki’s partner in the work.

Pia brings a deep love of horses and people, along with a talent for keeping things organized and helping EquiSoul reach others through social media. Her gelding, Kai, joined the farm with her, completing our herd of four. She lives in Harish with her husband, their five children, and two dogs.

Meet Our Herd

Yan, Cass, Lily, and Kai each have their own history and a place in our herd. We share a little of their stories here, leaving you room to get to know them for yourself. Part of the experience is noticing our first impressions—and allowing them to change as we spend time together.

Yan

At 31, Yan is the elder of our herd and has been with Nikki for 12 years. His life has included significant challenges, among them a major facial injury. He brings a long lifetime of experience to the encounters that unfold here.

Cass, a grey horse seen from the side in a field of flowers

Cass

Cass is 14 and has been with Nikki since he was two. His life has been shaped by kindness and openness—a different history from some of his herd companions, and one that forms part of who he is today.

Lily, a white horse facing forward

Lily

Lily joined us two years ago, at the age of seven. The only mare among three geldings, she has established a prominent place in the herd. Watching how she and the others relate offers plenty to notice and explore.

Kai, a brown horse with a white blaze looking to the side

Kai

Nearly 11, Kai is our newest herd member and belongs to Pia. He enjoys his freedom, his friendships, and his feed! His arrival brought our herd to four and began a new chapter in their life together.
